The Trusted Traditions World Division strongly advises the addition of World Notes to your numismatic portfolio. At this time, prices realized for rare, top certified population world notes of the highest quality are 50%-75% less than the cost of comparable US notes. Often, these world notes are older, with more history and just as ornate. Globalization has brought world notes into a new market and Trusted Traditions wants to be your reliable source for this thriving market in the same way we have been for over 16 years in our US division. With any world note that you may observe, if you have any questions, thoughts or suggestions, please do not hesitate to call or email us directly. Thank you and enjoy! Regarding grading of Bank Notes -
As noted by Krause: "Grading is the most controversial component of paper money collecting today". I do my best
to adhere to common practise in grading. If you don't agree with my grading, you have full right of return, no questions asked. These are the terms I use:
Uncirculated (UNC)
: A perfectly preserved note, never mishandled. Paper is clean and firm, without discoloration. Corners are sharp and square without any evidence of rounding. I include French printed notes, which usually have a slight ripple in the paper, into this category.
About Uncirculated (AU)
: A virtually perfect note, with some minor handling. An AU note cannot be creased, a crease being a hard fold which has usually "broken" the surface of the note.
Extremely Fine (XF)
: A very attractive note, with light handling. May have a maximum of three light folds or one strong crease.
Very Fine (VF)
: An attractive note, but with more evidence of handling and wear. May have several folds both vertically and horizontally.
Fine (F)
: A note that shows considerable circulation, with many folds, creases and wrinkling. May have minor tear(s) in border area, but may not have a center hole.
Very Good (VG)
: A well used noted, abused but still intact. Corners may have much wear and rounding, tiny nicks, tears may extend into the design. No pieces of the note can be missing.
Good (G)
: A well worn and heavily used note. No large pieces of the note may be missing, graffiti is common.
Fair (FR)
: A totally limp, dirty and very well used note.
Poor (PR)
: A "rag" with severe damage because of wear, staining, pieces missing, graffiti, larger holes, etc...
